Photoshoot Pictures and Reflection
Photo Shoot Reflection
In order to gather all pictures for my magazine, I held several photo shoots because the locations were quite different. Since I wanted to have natural, bright lighting in my shots, I have to wait on the correct day and sometimes the clouds would block the sunlight, therefore, spreading the shoots out worked well for me.
Living in Miami, opportunities to take pictures were everywhere so I took my friend with his IPhoneX to take pictures at a great moment. We to the pedestrian road, "Lincoln Road", where they were holding a gathering of people who set up tents to sell natural smoothies, vegetables and other natural and organic products. Here, we found a local company that sold herbs and spices. I put the camera in portrait mode to have a focus pull effect, having this shallow depth of field.
In order to get these dental tools and material, I visited the Dental Clinic, where my mom works where they lend me some props to include in my photo shoot and I played a bit with the positioning and the ones above where the position I preferred. The high shot was used to capture the opening leaves of the aloe plant and have a clear view of these two objects that aren't usually placed together.
However I had first done these shots in my backyard, but they didn't really have much structure. It was more like setting the props outside as test pictures, but I wasn't really sure of how to set the props up yet.
Now, for another shoot, I had taken the opportunity of going to a field trip to Everglades National Park. It is a wetland preserve and, with my friends iPhone X the pictures came out great. Here are some of the ones I took.
These are the ones in planning of utilizing because of their bright and clear aspect. It would be a perfect aspect to include in an article about the history of that area because of the historic aspect I would like to add to my magazine.
The day I got back from the field trip, I found a beautiful Hibiscus plant and took some of these shots. The high angle really places the flower in a pedestal to be shown as superior and highlights its beauty.
Looking back at Mother Earth Living's monthly topics that are repeated throughout their issues. This could be a little section where certain flowers that are in season when the issue is released of "Nature's Boon".

The next set of pictures were taken with the idea of Herbal dentistry in mind. I initially tried to take pictures at the actual dentist office, but I wanted to add the aspect of nature into the picture, and it would look too artificial if I would have tried to place an aloe plant into it with photoshop.
I came upon this article in the Journal of Dental Surgery, "Aloe Vera; An Ancient Herb For Modern Dentistry" and I recalled that I have my very own aloe plants in my front yard. This time, I didn't have my friend with the iPhone X by my side, but I utilized my iPad to take these *pictures. https://www.hindawi.com/journals/jds/2014/210463/*
