Magazine Font
Choosing Magazine Font
When it came to choosing my fonts, I had to do some research. On the website www.indesignskills.com I found some useful tips.Since my main article is "Dental Herbalism", I knew it would have to be a sophisticated font to fit this medical theme. They advised to utilize the "Bodoni" font; however, I was able to find the "Bodoni MT" font and it was a perfect fit.
For my magazine's title, Nature's Boon I wanted a bold text because I wanted the name to stand out with the main image in the background. Since the main image is taking over the whole cover, it is essential for the title to be in a bolder text. This will also be useful for the audience to identify the magazine instantly from the eye-catching letters. On the website https://justcreative.com I found the font "Garamond" in the article, "Top 7 Fonts Used By Professionals In Graphic Design". I found that it suited the simple yet bold disposition I want to create with my magazine.
For the rest of the smaller texts and subheading I would like lighter fonts for the smaller text so the page isn't loaded with too much, yet it is essential it can be legible to readers.

On the website above, it informed me that the font Century Gothic was popular in the print media and was very legible. This would be a great fit for subheadings. For other small text it stated that Verdana was a great font for small text as well because of how flexible it was and this is supported by it being sans serif.
